April 16th, Part VI

In conclusion, my internship experience at Harrisburg Area Community College was more than I had hoped for. My mentor was excellent and the rest of the faculty members were welcoming and helpful. I have learned so much about dental hygiene education that I had never known before, and I truly believe that I have met my goals and objectives. As I said good-bye to my primary site mentor, I asked her to keep me in mind for any part time or PRN clinical instructor positions in the future. She responded by saying that she would love to have me on staff, and that she would e-mail me employment paperwork and contracts to begin as a PRN adjunct faculty member effective immediately, with the hope of becoming a permanent part time member in the upcoming Fall or Spring semester. I am overjoyed! My dreams are slowly becoming reality, and I simply could not be more grateful for this opportunity!
